David and Simone extend a very warm
welcome to all Guests at Lacock Bed and Breakfast
Set in the beautiful village of Lacock, the bed and breakfast has been home to David and Simone McDowell for more than three decades. Pleasant views of the village, its church and the grounds of Lacock Abbey are seen from their large Victorian building. Rooms are furnished in a style that befits this historic and fascinating house. Food is locally sourced and freshly prepared, with home-made breads and jams. Through the seasons summer fruits, autumn berries, tomatoes and herbs come from their garden in the Abbey grounds.
The unique village of Lacock is preserved and owned by the National Trust. Its half-timbered cottages, stone-roofed houses and fine Georgian buildings appear in films such as Pride & Prejudice, Harry Potter and more recently Cranford.
David and Simone have lovingly restored the house to its original state and, without a doubt, it is one of the finest period buildings in the village. Like the rest of Lacock it is an idyllic reflection of the area's history and offers the perfect rural retreat.
“The surface of things gives enjoyment,
their interiority gives life.”
